Students at EDAC regularly participate in silo-busting cross-program projects to help them not only refine their technical skills, but also develop skills for working on multi-disciplinary teams. The greatest of these is our one-week-long All-School Game Jam.
On Monday morning, the students are divided into teams each comprising members from all four of our programs, illustration, animation, graphic design and video game design. The teams develop their own leadership structures, scope and workflow, and each member is accountable for their own work within the project. Their task is to create a playable video game by 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
Beta-testing games is an important part of the process. And so, we are looking for a few good folks who would be interested in playtesting the games on Thursday morning (March 15) between 10:30 and noon. The games should be fully playable, but they won’t be completely polished. Part of your role as a playtester is to give the teams constructive feedback about their game so they can work on it and make it even more awesome!
If you are interested, please sign up below. We are limiting the number of playtesters to a maximum of 15 people. If you have any questions, you can call us at 780-429-4878 or send us an email.
