STUDENT LOANS, SCHOLARSHIP, AND FUNDING STRATEGIES

Student Aid Alberta

Students attending EDAC may be eligible for financial aid through the Alberta Student Aid programs.

NOTE: due to the duration of the programs at EDAC, student are eligible for up to the maximum yearly amounts which total $22,500.

Rutherford Scholarship

Certain students who graduate from high school with an eligible mark and enroll in postsecondary studies may be able to receive up to $2,500 from the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship.

RESP

Some students have RESP funds and may use these towards their studies at EDAC.

FNMI Support Services

Various options are available to members of the FNMI communities. Check out the Indigenous Peoples Paying for School page on the ALIS website for more information.

Company Scholarship Programs

Some families work for companies that offer scholarship programs for their children. Check with your parents to see if such an option exists for you.

EDAC JoAnne Simons Memorial Scholarship
Joanne was a dedicated faculty member who lost her battle with cancer in 2010. She was a mentor who believed in the importance of industry’s connection to our programs. In her memory, EDAC offers a limited number of applicants who complete a research assignment as part of their application process a $1,000 scholarship.

EDAC Academic Achievement Scholarship

High School
In recognition of student academic excellence EDAC offers a limited number of $500 scholarships for students who graduate high school with a grade point average of 80% or higher and have completed at least one 30 level course in the Media, Design, & Communications stream.

Postsecondary
In recognition of student academic excellence EDAC offers a limited number of $500 scholarships for students who complete their undergraduate or graduate degree with a 3.2 GPA or equivalent.
