EDMONTON DIGITAL ARTS COLLEGE RELOCATES TO THE NEW ALBERTA BLOCK (FORMER CKUA BUILDING)

Edmonton, AB (June 30, 2015) – After three years in the historic Mercer Warehouse, the team at Edmonton Digital Arts College is ready for their “graduation” and are excited to embark on their next phase of growth with a relocation to the iconic Alberta Block (former CKUA building) on Jasper Ave and 105 Street; doors opening September 1, 2015.

“The Mercer Building has been an excellent incubator for EDAC to transition into the next phase of our business and education plan. Our time at the Mercer has provided everything we had hoped for by way of community collaboration, industry connection and an immensely creative environment to work and learn in. Now we are ready to forge ahead on our own in an exciting new space specifically tailored to meet our needs,” said, EDAC Executive Director, Owen Brierley.

EDAC will be taking over the full 4th floor of the familiar former CKUA building on Jasper Ave and 105th street. The space will accommodate EDAC’s diploma program growth with nearly double the square footage. Full renovation of the historic building is well underway and EDAC anticipates a mid-August move and will be fully operational for the September 8th intake of new students. The new space will be familiar with studio style classrooms, and fresh with an inviting and welcoming foyer area for visitors to the school.

“It is a great problem to have,” says Erin Hazen, EDAC Marketing Manager & Registrar, “too many students for our current space and a need to expand. The recent rebrand of our school and now a beautiful new space make for exciting days ahead at EDAC.”

Edmonton Digital Arts College is a locally owned and operated post-secondary institution that educates the next generation of Alberta’s digital media workforce with diploma programs in digital media design, digital illustration, 3D animation and video game design. EDAC grads work all over the world in production studios, advertising agencies, consulting companies, government, non-profit and more. At the intersection of art and technology, EDAC is fulfilling a niche educational need for the creative professionals of tomorrow.
