The JoAnne Simons Memorial Scholarship for Emerging Creative Professionals
About JoAnne Simons
The JoAnne Simons Memorial Scholarship honours one of the Edmonton Digital Arts College’s faculty members who passed away in October 2010. JoAnne was a passionate mentor who loved connecting graduates with career opportunities in the creative industries she loved so much.
Her teaching style was highly personal and as a result she developed many long lasting friendships with her students. Her first love was print design and she was happiest when she was meticulously trimming various print pieces for clients and personal projects. As a dedicated mentor, JoAnne would often continue working with her students even after they graduated occasionally meeting them at their workplace to offer some on-site coaching.
This scholarship program continues the spirit of JoAnne’s mentorship ideals.
